Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has reportedly handed in a transfer request to leave the club, as per Italian publication Gianluca DiMarzio.
The Spaniard is the longest-serving player at the club right now but has fallen out of favour under Mikel Arteta. Unable to reach his previous heights and a patchy run of form have led to the right-back losing his place.
Gianluca DiMarzio claims that the Spaniard has asked to leave the north Londoners this summer. The club are open to the idea of selling the full-back but are looking at a loan deal that has an option to buy which would become an obligation under certain conditions.
The report further reveals that Bellerin wants to join Inter Milan and that the negotiations are already underway but the Italian club want a loan deal that doesn’t have an obligation included.
Giving further credence to the report, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto put out a tweet which said:
“Héctor Bellerín spoke with Arsenal and asked him to leave now. He wants to go to Inter, it is his priority. Now the clubs have to work on it to find the best formula.”
Héctor Bellerín habló con el Arsenal y le pidió salir ya. Quiere irse al Inter, es su prioridad. Ahora los clubes tienen que trabajarlo para buscar la mejor formula. @SkySport

For the Gunners, a loan deal that has an obligation to buy would be the best way to structure this transfer. But the fact that this remains a possibility is good news for the club. It is clear that the Spaniard will not get many chances, so a move is the best course of action for both parties.
The sooner this deal is negotiated, the more time the north Londoners would have to find a replacement right-back. In his years in England, Bellerin has been an outstanding servant for the team and been a brilliant ambassador off the pitch.
It is a pity that this tenure is coming to an end this way, but it is time for the club and player to be pragmatic. At Inter, the Spain international would thrive as their new manager Simone Inzaghi likes using wing-backs and the Gunners full-back excels in that role. Bellerin has made his intentions known and it is time for Arsenal to conclude this transfer as soon as possible.
