Arsenal board executives meet to decide on club’s next manager

Ever since Arsenal parted ways with Unai Emery, there has been a lot of talk about who would replace him and it seems that the club have finally made some progress in appointing a new full-time manager.

According to reports in Daily Mail, the core selection committee of the club met for dinner last week and they discussed the immediate as well as long-term future of the club.

Raul Sanllehi, Edu, Josh Kroenke, Huss Fahmy and Vinai Venkatesham met at a private London venue early last week to discuss about who they could get for the club.

Though there is a caretaker manager in Freddie Ljungberg at the moment, both his first two games have not gone according to plan. As a result of this, it has seen faith diminish a little and so, they will be looking at other options now.

The North London club are in the middle of their worst run of form in more than four decades and something has to be done to stop this. Arsenal do have a chance to set this right when they take on West Ham United on Monday night.

The board on the other hand will be thinking of the future beyond that game. They are said to be looking for someone who with experience or someone completely new as in the case of Mikel Arteta.

The club needs to undergo a bit of a rebuild and the new manager will have a large part to play in it. There are still a few other names in the mix but the Emirates club must think long and hard before making their next move.

A club of Arsenal’s stature, doesn’t deserve to be in this position. It is up to the board to make sure that the club is able to get out of the rut that they are in now. Whoever the new manager is, they must be given the resources that they need and be given the chance to make the club their own.

If this happens, there is every chance that the Gunners will be able to get back into the Champions League. Arsenal need to make a decision carefully but it should also happen sooner rather than later.
