Arsenal produced a remarkable win over Wolves last week to continue their fight for the Champions League spots and they will now travel to Watford looking to keep that good run of form going, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The Gunners left it late against the visitors, thanks to the efforts of Alexandre Lacazette. Despite scoring late on, their attacking play for much of the game was encouraging and will be expected again at Vicarage Road.
As far as the team selection is concerned, the choices to be made are quite simple for Arteta. In goal, Aaron Ramsdale should start and the keeper will be looking to add another clean sheet to his collection. Takehiro Tomiyasu is a doubt for the game and that should see Cedric start as the right back with Kieran Tierney on the left.
The pairing in the centre of defence is quite straightforward as the first choice duo of Ben White and Gabriel will be given the nod. They have been impressive but the duo need to be careful of the threat that the Hornets possess in players such as Emmanuel Dennis.
In midfield, Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka have proven to be a great tandem. Though their roles have changed a little, they have managed to marshal the defence while also helping in setting up the tempo for the north Londoners.
Though Emile Smith Rowe is back in training, Gabriel Martinelli is likely to be preferred due to the directness that the Brazilian offers. The other two in midfield will be the dynamic presence of Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka. If these three can combine regularly it makes life very difficult for the hosts.
Alexandre Lacazette has become the fulcrum of the team and the current captain will be chosen to lead the Gunners’ charge. Arsenal will be hoping that they can put away the chances. Being clinical in front of goal is going to be crucial for the visitors. There are a lot of tough matches that are coming up for the north Londoners so getting the three points in a game like this is important.
