Arsenal will look to make it ten matches in a row without a defeat as they get ready to host Watford on Sunday, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.
The transformation in the Gunners’ fortunes has been excellent and they did really well to get the three points against Leicester City at the King Power stadium. And given how well the team has been playing, the manager is expected to more or less stick with the same team.
Aaron Ramsdale will continue in goal, and it was his astonishing display last week that helped the north Londoners beat the Foxes. The defence that helped keep a clean sheet is going to remain the same.
Takehiro Tomiyasu will start as the right-back and given the uncertainty around Kieran Tierney’s availability, Nuno Tavares will continue as the left-back. And in the centre of the defence, it is going to be the duo of Ben White and Gabriel.
The combination of Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga has blossomed into a dependable partnership in the middle. Their expertise will be needed to get the better of the Hornets.
Compared to last week, the duo will have more chances to venture forward and that should open up attacking opportunities for the Gunners. At the same time, they need to be careful of the speed the visitors possess in their attackers.
In attack, the decision is quite simple for Arteta as having Alexandre Lacazette play as a secondary striker is working very well. The Frenchman likes to drop deep to collect the ball and it has really helped the build-up play of the north Londoners.
Along with the forward will be Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe on the wings. These two have really stepped up their game in the recent weeks and that bodes well for the club.
And leading the attack will be captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has made a great start to the season. He will get a lot of opportunities and his speed will be a real threat against Watford. If the attackers can find the centre forward regularly, Arsenal will extend their unbeaten streak.
