Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has reportedly been left frustrated with the club’s failure to sanction a transfer move, as per the report in The Athletic.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium throughout this transfer window, however, the north London club are yet to agree on a deal to facilitate his departure.
According to the report in The Athletic, the Spanish international is desperate to leave the Gunners before the end of the transfer window. The right-back has become frustrated and also met with sporting director Edu and Mikel Arteta to find a way out of the club.
The report further claims that Inter Milan are looking to sign the defender on a loan deal with an option to buy, however, the north London club are not keen on letting their asset leave on loan without a mandatory buy option. Mikel Arteta’s side are holding for a certain fee which the Italian club are not prepared to meet.
Arsenal Fever View:
Selling Hector Bellerin will be the right decision for Arsenal, given the player’s unwillingness to remain at the club. Meanwhile, the Gunners are looking for a squad overhaul this summer, and cashing in on the defender will help the club sign intended targets.
However, prolonging the negotiation for a few extra pounds will not help either party. The north London club will need to find a replacement for the 26-year-old and the new arrival will need time to gel with the squad. With the season already underway, there is very little time to waste for the Emirates club.
With only two weeks remaining in this transfer window, the Emirates club will have to accelerate their transfer business. Apart from Bellerin, Lucas Torreira and Alexandre Lacazette’s futures are also hanging in the air and the Gunners might not have enough time to find proper replacements if those players were to leave this summer.
After starting the season on a disappointing note, the need for proper reinforcements are apparent. Arteta’s side are looking for a new creative midfielder and also a striker. So, in order to sign the intended targets, the north London club will have to accelerate their outgoings as soon as possible.
