As per a report from Belgian publication Het Laatste Nieuws, Arsenal are extremely close to complete a transfer move for Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The Anderlecht man has caught the eye of European clubs with a string of impressive performances in his short career. But it is the Gunners that have moved ahead of the queue and are on the verge of signing the midfielder.
According to the report, the 21-year-old arrived in London last weekend and is currently in quarantine. Once this is over, Lokonga will be cleared to sign for the north Londoners, and it is expected that he will be part of the squad that will travel to the USA for a pre-season tour.
Het Laatste Nieuws further state that the move is 99.9% complete and only confirmation of the transfer is pending. This report was also backed by journalist Fabrizio Romano who claimed that an official announcement is expected soon.

With the COVID pandemic, it is expected that the midfielder has had to spend some time in quarantine before joining his new teammates. This was similar to what happened with Nuno Tavares who arrived from Benfica.
Though it is a pity that the midfielder could not travel to Scotland with the rest of the team, there is still time for him to make a mark in pre-season. Gunners’ fans will have to wait a little longer to see Lokonga in action.
The midfielder is the right type of player for the Premier League as his physical and technical skills are quite advanced. The Belgian is adept at carrying the ball and is known to play the right pass at the right time. Arsenal have done really well to sign a promising talent such as Lokonga who is set to become the club’s second transfer of the summer. Once this move is made official, we will get to see what makes the midfielder so highly rated.
