‘A big game player’, some Arsenal fans want the club to sign 25-year-old attacker

A section of the Arsenal supporters have reacted positively to the ongoing speculation linking Yannick Ferreira Carrasco with a move to the club this summer.

A recent exclusive from Sport revealed that the Gunners are ‘one step away’ from signing the Belgium international, who is desperate to make a return to European football.

In response to this, a number of Arsenal fans have approved the potential move on Twitter and believe the attacker has the credentials to succeed in the Premier League.

Carrasco was previously pursued by the Gunners during the winter transfer window but a move failed to materialise with Dalian being reluctant to part ways with the Belgian.

However, the 25-year-old has since spoken regularly about the desire to return to Europe due to personal and professional reasons and it appears he could secure his wish this summer.

Arsenal were largely dependent on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette for the goals last term, but other than that they struggled to find a regular outlet from the wings.

Both Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan got their opportunities to impress out wide but neither were able to sufficiently impress with their exploits.

Iwobi, in particular, showed an improvement in terms of the forward attacking play under Unai Emery, but he nonetheless lacked the end product to get onto the scoresheet.

In Carrasco, the Gunners won’t be able to find a potent goalgetter, but the Belgian does possess good finishing skills which should enhance his prospects of scoring.

The only down part remains from his time in the Chinese Super League and there will be question marks whether he can adapt to a greater intensity on the playing field on a constant basis.
