Arsenal and injuries have always gone hand in hand. This is an unfortunate situation but it is something that the fans have become used to by this point.
So, it was nice to see that a few of the players who have been injured are set to make a return. This was confirmed by the medical team of the Gunners who spoke to the club’s official website.
This is what they had to say regarding those who have been on the sidelines:
Mesut Ozil
Now returned to full training following back spasm.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Now returned to full training following a small fracture to left fibula in August.
Danny Welbeck
Withdrawn from England squad with a minor hamstring issue. Being assessed ahead of Leicester City (h) on Monday, October 22.
Petr Cech
Left hamstring injury. Being assessed ahead of Leicester City (h) on Monday, October 22.
Apart from the players that have been mentioned here, there are a few who are still coming back from an injury. Those would be captain Laurent Koscielny and center back Dinos Mavropanos.
The good news regarding both of them is that they are also set to return to training very soon. This is good news for the club as the defense has been a little light and in danger of being overworked.
Given the fact that the Gunners are fighting on four fronts, it is important to have a full squad that is fit. The international break also gives these players a little bit more time to recuperate.
When the players return from this break, the main objective of Unai Emery and his team will be to ensure that the nine match winning streak keeps going for as long as possible.
This is because it is never good to lose the momentum that you have built up. The Gunners will be looking to get back into the Champions League this season. And whether that happens through the Premier League or the Europa League is secondary. Keeping a squad of fit players will be the primary focus.
