Arsenal

So much has happened since The Gunners opened their preseason with a tour to Sydney. Below are the updates on the latest Arsenal updates:

Winning Streak

The Gunners have maintained a 100% winning record since the start of the pre season so far. Having taken on hosts Sydney FC and Sydney Wanderers in Australia before heading to China for the ICC competition.

The International Champions Cup (ICC) featured 5 teams namely AC Milan, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Bayern Munich.

The North London club defeated Bayern Munich on penalties after the game ended 1-1 ordinary time courtesy of an Iwobi inspired move and finish in the 94th minute.

Sanchez future update

During his pre-match press conference, Arsene Wenger confirmed the club’s stand on Alexis Sanchez’s immediate future. Here is the quote from the Telegraph:

The decision has been made and we will stick to that. The decision is not to sell. I have not spoken to him (since the interview). But I can only reiterate what I have said before (he will not be sold).

Pep Guardiola has this to say when asked about Sanchez move(as per Goal):

Alexis is a player from Arsenal,” he told a press conference. “Arsene said that [Alexis will stay], it’s because he knows more than me.

It remains to be seen if Arsene Wenger will be able to remain defiant until the 1st of September on this subject.

Szczesny’s letter

Wojciech Szczesny has officially left the Gunners for Juventus but it seems his heart is still with the London club and its fans. Here is the Instagram post:

A small virus

The Gunners have reportedly been hit by illness with Captain Per Mertesacker, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and new signing Sead Kolasinac the reported cases so far.

Arsenal will take on English Champions Chelsea next on Saturday at the same Olympic stadium venue in an international friendly.

The possibility of Alexis, Lacazette, and Ozil lining up for the Gunners next season is seeming more and more likely, which will be mouth-watering for the fans…
