Piers Morgan has insisted that Arsenal should make use of Diego Costa’s situation of unrest at Chelsea to lure the Spanish frontman to the Emirates stadium at all costs this summer.
With the North London club actively searching for a striker in their quest to win the Premier League title after a long gap of 14 years celebrity, Gooner Morgan wants the Emirates club to acquire Costa somehow.
Piers Morgan is a British journalist and television personality currently working as a presenter on British breakfast shows Good Morning Britain which is telecasted on ITV. He is also the editorial director of First News, a British national newspaper for children.
Morgan has been very critical of Arsene Wenger’s performance over the past few years mocking him constantly at every given chance. He has been one of the leading members of the Wenger Out Brigade (WOB) which is a group of Arsenal fans calling for Wenger’s ouster for a significant period of time. The 52-year old journalist tweeted as follows:
Arsenal should bid £80 million for Diego Costa. Then keep bidding until we get him.

Spanish forward Costa who also played for Brazil (his birth nation) recently received a text message from his Italian manager Antonio Conte which the Chelsea striker made public. The message confirmed by MirrorSport read:
“Hi Diego, I hope you are well.
“Thanks for the season [sic] we spent together.
“Good luck for the next year but you are not in my plan.”
After Costa leaked information about Conte’s message to the media and other colleagues at the club the relationship between the manager and the player will not be the same anymore. This saga happening just a few weeks after the duo combined perfectly to plot Chelsea’s historic title triumph is an absolute shock to the football world.
Costa is understood to have actually replied to an initial message from Conte to his players elaborating on their responsibilities during this off-season. His seemingly audacious and irresponsible reply to this message is said to have gone down dismally with Conte – as the message above indicates.
Diego Costa joined Chelsea FC from the then Spanish champions Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of around €40m. He was the guiding force behind their title triumph. The 28-year old Spanish center forward has been Chelsea’s top goal scorer in all his 3 seasons at his club. He has bagged 58 goals and 24 assists in 120 games in all competitions during his time at the London-club.
A successful player like Costa not being in good terms with the club’s manager will set a bad example to the younger players at the club who look up to him. Costa is a proven goal-scorer and consistent performer at the top level but his bad attitude has let him down as a player. He has had a lot of problems with Arsenal itself in the past the most significant incident of which being his wicked antics leading to a Gabriel red card.
After all this many other Gooners apart from Morgan also want him at Arsenal just for the player he is. But as usual the final decision lies in Wenger’s hand and hopefully, he makes the right choice. COYG!!!
