It is another weekend of Premier league football action here again and fans all over the world are eagerly awaiting kickoffs from the various Saturday fixtures.
As common with most Arsenal fans, fixtures of note today will be those featuring rivals such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool will commence the Saturday kickoff as they take on Swansea at Anfield. Considering how formidable their home form has been and Swansea’s generally poor form and instability, I expect nothing short of a convincing victory for Jürgen Klopp’s troops.
Time: 13:30 GMT +1
Prediction : 3-1 victory for Liverpool.
I guess they’ll be no catching up in that department this week for the Gunners irrespective of an anticipated win over Burnley tomorrow.
Next up is Manchester United taking on Mark Hughes’ Stoke City at the Bet365 stadium formerly known as the Brittania stadium. Now, this is one fixture that has got me licking my lips.
I can sense a likelihood of potential points dropping in this fixture for Man United. With only 1 win in United’s last 5 trips there, there’s much to be hopeful about.
Even Josè Mourinho has found the Bet365 stadium ground a difficult hunting ground….
Players like Xherdan Shaqiri, Arnatovic (if he doesn’t get a red card), Borjan and Peter Crouch should cause United enough problems all day, especially from set pieces.
Time : 16:00 GMT + 1
Prediction: 2-1 to the home team (Stoke). No goals for Ibrahimovic today, his confidence needs a reality check😂
Then, to wrap things up today will be Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham taking on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad.
I am under no delusions that Tottenham will experience the same fortunes as the Gunners, considering their manager’s tactical acumen and the team’s current form. Then again, this is football and the Premier League for that matter.
With the likes of Dele Alli having the time of his life in the Premier league and Harry Kane finding his scoring boots again, with a hat-trick to show for it from their last outing, Spurs enter this fixture as slight favorites.
That said, Pep Guardiola’s men will be seeking redemption after their 4 nil humiliating defeat at the hands of Everton at Goodison Park last week.
I really can’t remember seeing such a scoreline against any team Guardiola has managed in his career but hey! That is the English Premier league for you innit?
I expect a very explosive encounter as both Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola are master tacticians and are richly blessed with talents in their respective squads.
Other key players in this fixture include; Aguero, Erikson, David Silva, Nolito, Victor Wanyama etc.
Time :18:30 GMT + 1
Prediction : Logically speaking 3-2 based on home advantage.
Frankly, may the better team win or draw. Either way, points will be dropped and part of the 6 points Arsenal wasted during that crazy Everton-Man City week will be restored.
Till the next thought……
