Arsenal finally ended their big game blues after comprehensively beating Manchester City 2-0 at the Ethiad stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners have often struggled in the past few seasons with their away form to big teams, but on Sunday they seemed a total different outfit as they showed great resilience to pull off an unlikely victory.
It was a victory which was built on a solid defensive display as Wenger seemed to compromise on his principles of playing attacking football. The North London club balanced their natural flair with an organised mindset to the defensive side of the game.
Santi Cazorla opened the scoring from the penalty spot before setting up Olivier Giroud for the second with a fine free kick. He put up a fantastic performance both in defense and attack and it was easily his finest performance till date in an Arsenal shirt.
Francis Coquelin also put in a wonderful performance to take the Emirates club to 5th position in the League table, only a point behind fourth placed Manchester United.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter.
Loved last nights performance by @Arsenal Coquelin was really effective, he behaved like a real leader on the field

Still cant get over the game last night. Probably the most solid defence Arsenal ever had since the Invincibles.

Arsenal actually have a dominant goalkeeper – David Ospina hasn't put a foot wrong. Szczesny might as well buy a 20-pack on the way home.

Santi Cazorla strikes me as the kind of bloke whose personality would be as likeable as his game. Terrific footballer.
