Hernandez broke into Atletico first team earlier this season and has shown a glimpse of what he is capable of. He has made 10 La Liga appearances this season and has been impressive on the pitch. He could serve as the ideal replacement for the ageing Metersacker and form a formidable partnership with Laurent Koscienly at the back.
Chilwell, who is also a target for Liverpool is another option Arsenal are looking at to bolster the defence. The young full-back has produced sparkling performances in his few appearances for the recently crowned Premier League champions. It remains to see if the Foxes will be ready to part with their prospect.
