Arsenal agree £7.5m-a-year deal for Sead Kolasinac, first signing announcement soon

Arsenal are expected to announce the much-anticipated transfer of Sead Kolasinac after the Bosnian agreed on a £7.5m annual package to secure a Premier League move.

Sky Sports confirmed last month that the Gunners had finalised a Bosman agreement with the Schalke defender, and the player would join the club officially on July 1.

In spite of this, there has not been any update from the north London club, though the player gave a hint by following the Gunners on Instagram last week.

According to SportBILD, the FA Cup holders will end the wait for their new recruit after they settled a long-term contract with Kolasinac worth £7.5m a season.

Kolasinac had wanted assurances over Arsene Wenger’s stay beyond the summer, and this appears to have hindered contract talks at an earlier stage.

The German-born footballer is expected to be drafted into the Gunners lineup, and his attacking instincts make him the perfect fit for the left wing-back role.

Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal initially shared the position in the new look 3-4-2-1 formation, but the latter was therein deployed as part of a central defensive trio.

Gibbs has just a year left on his previous Gunners deal, and there is a possibility that he could end his long-term association upon the arrival of Kolasinac.

Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are in the hunt for the Gunners graduate with the former prepared to match his £15m valuation.

Kolasinac’s signing could be one of the many arrivals at the Emirates with Wenger planning to recruit at least two world-class forwards to his squad ahead of the new season.
