‘We’re so lucky to have him’, some Arsenal fans hail 29-year-old forward after starring against Valencia

Aubameyang

A selection of Arsenal fans have hailed the showing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the club’s 3-1 win over Valencia in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

The north London side had come into the game with three straight defeats on the bounce and they made a poor start with Valencia scoring within the 11th minute through Mouctar Diakhaby.

However, they found the leveller shortly after some wonderful link-up and unselfish play from Aubameyang, who put Alexandre Lacazette through for an easy left-footed tap-in.

Lacazette thereafter took charge of the proceedings with his second goal of the game, but Aubameyang made his mark towards the end by grabbing the vital third goal from an excellent loopy cross from Sead Kolasinac.

Following the game, the Gunners supporters were pleased with the eventual outcome and some praised the efforts of Aubameyang, who provided the Gunners with the two-goal cushion ahead of the return leg at the Mestalla.

Aubameyang has come for some criticism from the fans amid the club’s poor run of form in the league, but he has nonetheless been consistent in terms of contributing goals and assists to the team’s cause.

The Gunners are scheduled to face Los Che in the return leg next week and they surely need to showcase a better resolve at the back, considering they could have conceded more than once with some better finishing from the opposition ranks.

Still, with Aubameyang partnering Lacazette upfront, they are bounce to pose a threat to Valencia on the counter-attack, and Unai Emery’s side should be fairly confident of finding the scoresheet against a Los Che backline, which looked vulnerable on multiple occasions last night.
