Some Arsenal fans on Twitter have appreciated the display of midfielder Granit Xhaka during the club’s 3-1 comeback win over Southampton in the Premier League last night.
The Switzerland international has received criticism from few supporters in the past, but he has proved his worth in recent weeks with top-notch performances.
Xhaka impressed against the Saints where he created two big chances, one of which contributed to Nicolas Pepe putting the Gunners level in the first half.
The 28-year-old ended the game with 92 percent of his passes completed and he appears to have formed a solid partnership alongside Thomas Partey.
Here are some reactions from Gunners fans on Twitter:
He takes a lot of stick, but Granit Xhaka has been excellent since returning from suspension last month. Influential yet again tonight.

Granit Xhaka is a convenient scapegoat for our fanbase when things don't go well. He's put in performances like today in games we lost and got criticized. All he needed was a competent midfield partner and now he has that in Thomas Partey.

Excellent away win. Cedric and Saka joint MOTM for me. Thought Xhaka was very good again. Leno and Holding solid. Pepe encouraging. Bellerin on the other hand is a proper worry now. Anyway, onwards and upwards!

Xhaka could have quite easily bagged more than one assist last night, had Alexandre Lacazette not squandered a glorious scoring chance in the first minute of the game.
The midfielder has been putting in solid displays since his return from suspension last month and hopefully, he can continue the good form against fierce rivals Manchester United on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have returned to the top half of the league standings by beating the Saints and are presently eighth on the table.
The north London giants have the chance to do the league double over United this weekend. They previously achieved the feat during the 2006/07 campaign.
