Arsenal sealed their qualification to the knock out round in the Champions League after securing a hard fought 3-2 win against Ludogorets on Tuesday night.
The match was expected to be smooth sailing for Arsenal after they thrashed the Bulgarian club 6-0 at the Emirates a fort night back.
However the Gunners were in for a rude shock, as Ludogorets took the lead in the 12th minute, as Cafu steered a left foot volley into the back of the net from a free kick. Arsenal’s defenders were at fault, as they left the striker virtually unmarked in front the goal.
The Belgian club doubled their lead three minutes later as Cafu’s cross found Keseru in front of the goal, which he diligently diverted into the back of the net.
However, the shell shocked Gunners responded to the onslaught around the 20 minute mark, as Xhaka made it 2-1 from an Ozil assist. Arsenal continued to dominate and 4 minutes before the lemon break, they found the equaliser.
Ramsey clipped in a cross from the right wing, which Giroud expertly headed into the goal ahead of the on-rushing goalkeeper.
The North London continue to attack in the second half but were unable to find the winner until late in the game. Arsenal’s inform play-maker Mesut Ozil scored a picturesque goal in the 87th minute to make it 3-2.
The German ran through on goal, chipped over the keeper and cut inside two defenders before expertly slotting it into the back of the net. The Bulgarian club had there chances, but were unable to find the 3rd goal, thanks to couple of good saves from Ospina.
With qualification confirmed, Arsenal will look to top the group when they face PSG at the Emirates in 2 weeks. A draw will also be good enough for the Gunners as they will go through on goal difference.
