The World Cup is just around the corner and most of the Premier League’s top clubs will be represented including Arsenal. Even though Arsenal’s season has been indifferent, there is a possibility for some of the Arsenal players to make a major impact at the World Cup 2018, according to the latest World Cup tips.
Mesut Ozil (Germany)
There is no finer player on his day than Ozil, a playmaker who can produce several magical moments in a game. Ozil’s languid style tends to earn him unwelcome attention but that is just a veneer to a treasure trove of skill and genuine talent.
He will be key in the German team and totally comfortable in his role. He is blessed with an almost instinctive understanding of those around him and will be heavily involved in any creative play. Defending champions Germany face Mexico, Sweden, and Korea Republic in Group F.
Alexandre Lacazette (France)
Lacazette has had his issues since signing for Arsenal. A knee injury stopped him from adding to a reasonable goal tally but he has looked lightening sharp since his return. He is an out and out number nine but with vision and intelligence.
His work rate is exceptional but it is his ability to build a move, lose a marker, and end up with a foot on the ball, to finish off the move that is so impressive. He will score at the World cup without a doubt given the opportunity but France have a number of options in the centre-forward position that are the envy of other teams and include Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud. France are up against Australia, Peru, and Denmark in the Group C.
Alex Iwobi (Nigeria)
Iwobi was plucked from Arsenal’s academy in 2015. Although he is clearly not the finished article, he will benefit from a solid World Cup. He is comfortable on the ball, incisive and has an eye for goal. He is able to fulfil a number of roles after being utilised as a striker, winger, and central midfielder. Outgoing manager, Arsene Wenger confided that he saw Iwobi in a more central midfield position but Arsenal already have a wealth of options in that area. Hence, Iwobi has mainly featured out on the wing, cutting inside and it has proved successful for both the club and player on occasion. Iwobi has the potential to be Nigeria’s standout player and will bag the odd goal in the process.
