Arsenal have the opportunity to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers on the road on Wednesday night.
The Gunners squandered the chance to cement a top four spot at the weekend where they suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Crystal Palace.
Still, they find themselves within one-point off fourth-placed Chelsea with a game in hand over the Wolves, and they can achieve their ambition so long as they can shed their away woes.
Three of their remaining four league games are on the road, and they need to find the consistency with their away displays, which has been lacking for the second season running.
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Predicted Lineup:
Bernd Leno produced another top-notch performance against Palace where he made a sublime double-save during the game. The showing came to no avail in the end, and the German will want to produce another solid display against the Wolves. He is expected to start in goal.
In the defence, Shkodran Mustafi will most certainly be dropped from the backline after his dreadful performance against Palace which cost the Gunners with at least one point. In his place, Sokratis should return after a two-game domestic ban and he is likely to partner Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal in central defence with the latter replacing Mavropanos in the lineup.
At right wing-back, Carl Jenkinson should likewise get the chop after a below-par performance in the recent derby. Ainsley Maitland-Niles appears certain to feature in Jenkinson’s place with Sead Kolasinac taking up the position on the opposite end.
In the midfield, a complete reshuffle is expected from the recent Palace loss with Mohamed Elneny and Matteo Guendouzi being replaced with Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira. Xhaka missed the Palace game entirely as a precaution for a hip concern but he should feature from the off against Nuno’s side.
In the attack, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are likely to maintain their positions after their respective goalscoring contributions against Palace. Ozil appeared to fizzle out of the game after his leveller against the Eagles, but he remains the club’s prime creative force and should keep his spot.
Predicted Lineup: Leno, Koscielny, Sokratis, Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Xhaka, Torreira, Kolasinac, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette
