Serie A giants Napoli are prepared to offer a three-year contract to goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, should he end his association with Arsenal in the summer.
The Poland shot-stopper has spent the past two seasons on loan with Italian club AS Roma where he has enjoyed the best form of his career.
As a result, the 27-year-old has been tipped to make a Gunners comeback this summer with David Ospina seemingly keen on a move to Turkey with Fenerbahce.
According to TalkSPORT, Napoli will offer Szczesny the chance to remain in the Serie A with the promise of a three-year deal on a lucrative wage package.
It is added that the player’s representative has already met up with the club’s sporting director to discuss personal terms ahead of a potential move for his services in the summer.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has previously highlighted that the club will not require a new goalkeeper due to the presence of the likes of Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez, but Napoli’s pursuit is likely to place doubts over the shot-stopper’s future.
The Pole could have the stand to compete with Petr Cech for the number one role next term, and a final decision could be left to the shot-stopper, who will want regular first-team action ahead of next year’s World Cup.
Szczesny will have just a year left on his Gunners contract this summer, and his reluctance to negotiate a fresh contract could end his long-term stay with the club.
The 6ft 5in goalkeeper has appeared in 181 outings for the FA Cup finalists since his first-team debut in a League Cup game against West Bromwich Albion in 2009.
