‘Put some respect on his name please’, some Arsenal fans react to forward’s sublime display vs Valencia

Aubameyang

A section of the Arsenal faithful have heaped praise on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following his maiden hat-trick during the Europa League showdown versus Valencia on Thursday night.

The Gunners went into the second leg of their Europa League semi-final with a 3-1 advantage but their two-goal cushion was partly chalked off after a 11th-minute goal from Kevin Gameiro.

However, the scores were levelled six minutes later through an impressive strike from Aubameyang and the Gunners managed to take a 1-1 scoreline into the half-time break.

In the second period, the north London side pretty much controlled the game and Aubameyang largely made the headlines with two more goals to complete his maiden hat-trick for the club.

Following the 4-2 win, a number of Arsenal fans hailed the showing of Aubameyang after he produced probably the best performance of his Gunners career when the club needed the most.

Arsenal have been going through a tough run especially on the road this year and the early strike from Valencia presented concerns whether they can progress to the Baku final.

Any doubts, however, were cleared with both Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette finding the net and the duo should once again prove key against Chelsea in the competition’s final at the end of the month.

When comparing the recent European fortunes of both teams, the Gunners seem to hold the edge with respect to the better attacking prowess, but the final will prove a test nonetheless.

Arsenal are very much out of the running for the top four ahead of the final gameweek of the league campaign, and they must lift the Europa League crown to seal progress to next season’s Champions League.
