Arsenal will host Swiss outfit FC Basel at the Emirates for their second game of the group phase of their 2016/17 Champions League campaign today.
Arsene Wenger’s men will be heavy favourites to claim all three points against their Swiss opponents, especially so given their recent form. He will stick with the same team that thrashed Chelsea 3-0 in the Premier League with one or two changes.
So without further ado, here’s the predicted line-up for Arsenal.
GOALKEEPER:
David Ospina is likely to feature with him the first choice for the Champions League, having starred in our encounter with Paris Saint-Germain two weeks ago.
DEFENSE:
Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal will start the game as their performance as a unit and individuals has been immaculate.
MIDFIELD:
Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil will start the match as they’ve been nothing but amazing these past weeks. Arsene Wenger may give Granit Xhaka a rare start tonight, with Francis Coquelin having picked up an injury in our win against the Blues at the weekend.
ATTACK:
Arsenal will again play with Alexis Sanchez as No. 9 with Theo Walcott and Alex Iwobi supporting him in the attack. In the last two matches, Sanchez has really played well in the striker role and Walcott has been pristine with finishes and Iwobi with his assists.
Complete Predicted Line-up:
Ospina, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Xhaka, Cazorla, Ozil, Walcott, Iwobi and Sanchez.
Bench: Cech, Gabriel, Gibbs, Elneny, Zelalem, Chamberlain and Perez.
The Key player for Arsenal in the game would be Granit Xhaka, who will have the task of not only controlling the midfield but also containing the attack. A family feud will occur again as Granit’s older brother Taulant has already revealed that his parents wants Basel to beat Arsenal, which the Gunner’s midfielder would be desperate not to allow at any costs.
Our current form is unstoppable, and you can’t expect anything less than a win, despite our opponents form.
Who do you think will win ?
