Arsenal have officially confirmed that Dani Ceballos has signed on a loan deal from Real Madrid after the offer from the London club was enough to convince the midfielder to come to England.
Apart from this bit of news, Arsenal fans also got to know what shirt number he will be wearing for the 2019/20 season along with his possible debut.
Ceballos will take on the No. 8 that was made vacant when Aaron Ramsey left on a free transfer for Juventus. Speaking on the loan deal, Gunners manager Unai Emery said:
‘We’re excited to see Dani join us. He is a talented player with big technical ability, creativity and precision.’
Ceballos is a highly rated midfielder in Spain even though he has not been able to hold down a regular place in the Real Madrid midfield. As a result of this Real manager, Zinedine Zidane has deemed him to be surplus to requirements for the upcoming season.
And according to reports in Spanish publication AS, the reason that convinced Ceballos to choose the North London club was the promise of first-team football that manager Unai Emery had given the player. He could play as much as 40 games in the 19/20 season and that is what the midfielder wants.
He is thought to be the one chosen as the replacement for outgoing midfielder Aaron Ramsey and this is further proven by the fact that Ceballos has been given Ramsey’s number.
The Spaniard is a creative presence in the center of midfield that can break through the lines and can dribble very well. Those who have seen him will surely see some traces of Santi Cazorla in his playing style.
Now that the center of midfield has been taken care of, it is time for the Gunners to look at other areas in the squad that need reinforcement. They are still after a couple of players in the defensive department and they do not have much time to wrap up these deals.
Arsenal have done well to get a talented midfielder from Real Madrid on a loan as that will not have a huge impact on their transfer budget. Ceballos becomes the Gunners second signing of the summer and fans will be excited to see who else comes to the club in the coming weeks.
