Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has admitted his disappointment after failing to feature for the Gunners during the recent Premier League derby against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners returned to winning ways after two league matches with a comfortable 4-1 triumph over Fulham.
Shortly after that game, Ozil expressed his reaction via his official Twitter account where he revealed that his knee problem had been the reason behind his absence from the matchday squad.
He Tweeted:
Positive start into 2019 for us!❤ Congrats Gunners!⚽👏🏼 Nevertheless it was hard for me to not being on the pitch due to my injury today. I definitely want to help the team as soon as possible again. Wishing all of you a happy, healthy and satisfying 2019! 💪🏼💥 #YaGunnersYa #M1Ö

Ozil has struggled for regular gametime since the last international break and he has managed just three league appearances in this period with only two of those being starts.
As such, there has been regular speculation linking the midfielder with a move away from the Emirates but that certainly does not appear like happening with Emery regularly highlighting the importance of Ozil during the ongoing campaign.
Arsenal’s recent triumph over Fulham has reduced their deficit to fourth-placed Chelsea to just three points after the Blues only managed a goalless draw against Southampton at the Bridge.
Next up, the Gunners will shift their attention to the FA Cup third round where they are scheduled to face Blackpool on the road this weekend.
The Gunners have already faced League One Blackpool once in the League Cup earlier this term where they secured a close 2-1 triumph at the Emirates Stadium.
The match should generally witness the manager rotate his options but judging by the club’s recent injury crisis, Emery may have to field the majority of the team which triumphed over Fulham to avoid a potential Cupset which was the case last term.
