Arsenal have the opportunity to enhance their slender prospects of making the top four when they entertain Brighton & Hove Albion in their final home game of the season.
The north London side are currently two points behind the Champions League places, and they face a must-win situation on Sunday to maintain their top-four ambitions heading into the final gameweek of the season.
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Predicted Lineup:
Bernd Leno has been the undisputed choice when it comes to the goalkeeping duties in the league since October. He is expected to replace Petr Cech in goal after sitting on the bench during the midweek European clash.
In the defence, Unai Emery may stick with the three-man combination. Laurent Koscielny could get a breather after struggling towards the end of the Valencia game in midweek. His absence may witness Nacho Monreal partner Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos at the heart of the backline.
At right wing-back, Carl Jenkinson seems the likely choice to replace Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who will be serving a one-match ban after his sending off against Leicester City. Jenkinson received criticism from the fans during the Crystal Palace loss, but he should still feature ahead of Stephan Lichtsteiner, who has barely touched the field in the last few months. On the opposite end, Sead Kolasinac should take up his regular role.
In the midfield, Lucas Torreira should feature from the off after coming off the bench against Los Che. The Uruguayan should be accompanied by Granit Xhaka in the centre of the park and the Swiss surely needs to make amends after struggling to dominate the proceedings in recent away meetings at Wolves and Leicester.
In the attack front, Emery may not consider any rotation from the midweek game, considering the club must secure the three points against Brighton to stand an outside chance of making the top four. Hence, we are anticipating Mesut Ozil to feature in the number 10 role with Alexandre Lacazette partnering Pierre-Aubameyang upfront.
Predicted Lineup (3-4-1-2): Leno; Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal; Jenkinson, Torreira, Xhaka, Kolasinac; Ozil; Lacazette, Aubameyang
