We are still some time away from the transfer window but there are a lot of rumors going around. These include some that seem more likely to happen than others.
One such move that could happen is the one linking Belgian winger Leandro Trossard with a move to the North London club.
The player’s agent has been talking to the media about a potential move for the player from his Jupiler Pro League side K.R.C Genk. As per Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Trossard’s agent Josy Comhair said:
“There is no agreement with any club yet. But I think that Germany is a beautiful country for him.
“But yes, it can also be Arsenal. Because with Arsenal you are immediately at the highest level and you can almost only go down.
“If you sell Ndidi for €17m, you can sell Leandro for 20, you know. For less than 20 million you don’t have Leandro.”
If the Gunners were to get the winger to the Emirates, they would have to part with an amount in the region of €20m. This should be enough to secure the services of Trossard who has been one of the best in the Jupiler Pro League this season.
The winger who is also the captain of his team has scored 22 goals and assisted a further 9 in 43 appearances this season. This is a very impressive total for a player who plays on the wings and it shows that he is a goal threat as well.
Arsenal could certainly do with a player that has a profile like Trossard who is pacy, skillful and can finish the chances that are created as well. The Emirates club have people who excel in certain areas but they would not necessarily be considered as the complete package.
Though Trossard has not played at the highest level, it would be a gamble worth taking especially for the price that he will be coming in at. Arsenal need a wide player who is direct and has end product and the Belgian is the sort of man they should be looking at.
The winger who will be turning 25 this year is at the perfect stage to make the jump to the bigger leagues in Europe. And the Gunners could really benefit from having someone who is what they need on the pitch.
Spending €20m has become the norm for most clubs so this price will not be too high if the Gunners are contemplating a move. Given the impressive season that Trossard has had, there will be some competition for his signature but the lure of Arsenal might prove to be the clinching factor.
