Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has provided an injury update on his first-team players ahead of the final game of the league season.
The Gunners are currently just a point behind fourth-placed Liverpool in the league standings, and their chances of achieving a Champions League spot rests on the Reds dropping points against Middlesbrough.
Arsene Wenger’s side host Everton at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon and the match is unlikely to be treated as a curtain-closer with the north London club likely to fight all the way for a top-four finish.
Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey limped off in the previous games against Stoke City and Sunderland respectively, and it appears that the former won’t take part in the final league game of the campaign.
Ramsey took a knock during the second-half of the 2-0 win over Sunderland, and Wenger has deemed him fit enough to feature against Ronald Koeman’s team.
Apart from the pair, Wenger has also placed doubts over the fitness of skipper Laurent Koscielny, who is likely to have a series of tests to determine whether he will take part on Sunday.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain is not back and we have an uncertainty over whether Koscielny will be available or not. He will have a test today and tomorrow and then I will make the decision. Aaron Ramsey is alright,” Wenger was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
Arsenal have maintained an admirable record of having finished in the top-four in each season under Wenger, but this feat could be shattered this weekend with rivals Liverpool and Manchester City in pole position to achieve Champions League qualification.
