Arsenal will not let young forward complete transfer move to German club

reiss-nelson

It was one of the more surprising moves that the Gunners made during the course of the summer. The loan move of Reiss Nelson to Hoffenheim was one that many people did not see coming.

The youngster has made a bright start to his career in Germany and there were suggestions that the German club wanted to sign him on a permanent basis.

But, as per Bild(via talkSPORT), Arsenal are not interested in selling him. This is one news that will make the fans of the Gunners feel happy as Nelson is someone who is tipped to be a star at the Emirates for many years to come.

So, it would not be wise for the club to let go of the young winger. The time that Nelson spends in Germany will be a big help for the player as he will get to learn a lot.

When he comes back to England, he can use what he learnt playing for Hoffenheim and impress the Arsenal fans and the Premier League.

It is well known that the Gunners are in need of a winger as there is no one at the club who can really play in that position. This is perhaps the reason why Arsenal are reluctant to let go of Nelson.

The other reason for this could be the opinion that manager Unai Emery has of the youngster. Emery is someone who believes in Nelson and he made that clear even when he left for Germany. If not now, it seems that the Englishman will definitely have a part to play in the future sooner rather than later.

Apart from all this, there is also the fact that Nelson signed a long-term contract with the club before he left on loan. That is a strong indication that the club trusts the player and wants him to be a part of the future. The potential that Nelson has is very high so it is imperative that Arsenal do not let him slip away.

Injury boost for Unai Emery as key duo could feature for Arsenal against Sporting Lisbon

It is safe to say that the mood around the Emirates and Arsenal fans around the world is in a happy place. The reason for that is the ten-match winning streak that the club is on.

Everybody associated with the club will be hoping that it can continue in the Europa League as well when Arsenal play Sporting Lisbon. Fans will be happy that a couple of injured players will be back in contention as per talkSPORT.

The players in question are goalkeeper Petr Cech and center back Sokratis. It is good for the manager to have these options at his disposal as they can be called upon if needed.

Sokratis in particular has done a lot to prove his doubters wrong with a string of impressive performances at the heart of the defense. His immaculate reading of the game coupled with his pace makes him a formidable opponent for many strikers.

So, it will be good to have him back and as for Cech, he might not play a part in the match but it is important to have a fully fit squad.

The only real problem that Arsenal are going to have squad wise is in the left back area where both choices are injured at the moment. Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac are a doubt for the match against Lisbon and there is an indication that they will fall just short.

This is the kind of problem that will show the mettle of Unai Emery as a manager and fans will be hoping that he is able to find a solution for this.

Right now, the Gunners have to be focused on the match and that alone as there is no room for distractions in this game. It is important to keep the winning run going as long as possible. And it will help if the squad is fully fit but the players who are fit must be instructed on what to do and how to do it.

Predicted Arsenal Line-up

Given that the Gunners are on a ten match winning streak, the mood around the club seems to be really good.

And fans will be hoping that this continues in the club’s Europa League adventure which will roll on in Portugal as Arsenal play Sporting Lisbon.

So, when the squad was announced as per Football London, many were surprised to see one particular name be part of that list.

That player is none other than the right-back Carl Jenkinson who has become something of a forgotten figure at the Emirates. After making a move in the summer of 2011, it seemed that he could become a useful squad player for the Gunners.

But a combination of injuries, poor form and the rise to prominence of Hector Bellerin meant that he found opportunities in the first team to be very limited.

Here a pic of the defender(right side) traveling along with the Arsenal squad:

This has resulted in the defender going on three different loan spells where two of them were spent at West Ham United and the final one was with Birmingham City.

His time at these clubs was a bit of a mixed bag. Jenkinson found some success with West Ham United where he was able to impress in patches. His time at Birmingham was one to forget as he was haunted by more injury problems.

But, he has somehow managed to survive all that and still be an Arsenal player. Even though he is a member of the team, not many people were expecting him to be a part of the squad at any moment. His inclusion goes to show that in football, anything can happen at any given time.

One cannot help but feel that this would be the last chance that Jenkinson has to prove himself as an Arsenal player. Perhaps he will get a few chances here and there and it is up to him to make use of whatever comes his way. If he is able to help the club in some form or other, he will definitely endear himself to the fans.

Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi reveals plans for special January signing

Predicted Arsenal Line-up

It has been a whirlwind of change that has happened with Arsenal over the course of the summer. There have been some changes on the pitch but more has taken place off it.

Apart from the managerial change, there has been a reshuffle in the Arsenal power structure. With the exit of former CEO Ivan Gazidis, Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesam have been handed the keys to the functioning of the Gunners.

They recently gave an interview where they spoke about various topics including transfers.

When asked if the club would be interested in making any signings, this is what Sanllehi had to say(as per Express):

“Unless something special comes up, in principle, the winter window is not one that we are really interested.

“We are always looking at the market and opportunities that could appear. Normally, I am not a strong fan of the winter window.”

“I think the winter window is for unexpected problems. That’s not a rule, it is a principle. We have a full team of professionals looking into the market, analysing the possibilities and the players.”

For fans of the club, they have heard this kind of statement before as it is a very similar thing to what former manager Arsene Wenger used to say.

But, given the number of signings that were made in the summer, it is a little doubtful that the Gunners would dip their hands in the January transfer window.

All said and done, this situation could change in the coming months and if the board feel that they have truly found someone special, they will possibly make a move for him.

This new structure is something that the club is not really used to as it has never been the case with the Gunners. But, this is the way most clubs operate these days so the board has to change with the times.

After a rough start, the Gunners have bounced back in spectacular fashion by going on a ten match winning streak that they will look to extend for as long as possible. Though it is true that the club has tougher tests coming up, with the support of the Arsenal board, Unai Emery and his men can do wonders. This is an important season for the London club and their primary objective will be to get back into the Champions League.

“I had pretty much agreed to stay”, Jack Wilshere explains exact reason for leaving Arsenal

Jack Wilshere

It was one of the more surprising moves that happened over the summer. After looking like he was getting back to his old self, Jack Wilshere ended up making a rather shock move to Premier League club West Ham United.

There have been a few suggestions as to why this move took place. Now, the player himself has decided to clear the air regarding this issue.

According to Express, this is what Wilshere had to say about the move away from the Gunners:

“If Arsene had stayed I would have stayed, because of the influence he had in my career and the trust he had in me. He gave me the armband and respected me a lot.

So, I had pretty much agreed to stay. And then he left and that changed things.”

It is clear to see the kind of relationship that the Englishman had with the former Arsenal manager. Despite going through numerous injury problems, Wenger always made it a point to support Wilshere and that has allowed the player to give fans some moments of brilliance.

Although to be fair, there is another way to look at this story. When Unai Emery was announced as the new Arsenal manager, it seemed like the midfielder was going to stay.

Then, there were a couple of signings made in the midfield and that was sure to change the dynamics of the team. The additions of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi meant that the chances for Wilshere were going to reduce.

It can be safely said that this too played a major part in the decision that the Englishman ended up making. His path to the first team was already blocked and the transfers just made it worse.

If Wilshere had opted to stay with the Gunners, it would have given the Emirates club a big boost as he is someone who is capable of producing special moments. But all that is in the past now and Arsenal must focus on extending their winning streak for as long as possible.

Arsenal interested in making €50m move for 21-year-old Aaron Ramsey replacement

Arsenal Stadium

We are a little more than a couple of months away from the January transfer window but the rumor mill keeps going and links players with the Gunners.

One such player to be linked with the London club is Italian central midfielder Nicolo Barella who plays for Cagliari and as per Football Italia, is a serious target for Arsenal.

The player is thought to be a replacement for the outgoing Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey as the club feels that Barella is ideally suited to that role.

If at all there is anything preventing this deal from going through, it will be the asking price that has been set by the Italian club but even that will not deter the Gunners it seems.

A price of €50m does sound like a lot but when you look at the asking rate in general, this does seem like the norm for most clubs.

If the Gunners were able to shell out that kind of money, they will be getting a player who is adept at both attacking and defending and he will be able to complement the midfielders already at the club.

It is said that one of the reasons for the club retracting their offer for Ramsey was the fact that manager Unai Emery thought he could get someone better suited to the system that he wants to implement.

Barella has himself hinted in the past that he would be willing to move to the Premier League as he feels that his playing style will fit in well with the way the game is played in England.

Despite the interest of the Gunners, it can be safely said that Cagliari will be unwilling to let go of the midfielder. But, if Arsenal want their man, they will have to go ahead and pay what is being asked. The upside of this deal is that Barella is a player who has a lot of potential and will certainly be a big success at the Emirates.

Arsenal favourites to complete signing of €60m-rated winger this January

To anyone who sees the Gunners play, it is clear that the team is in need of a winger. Though the team is able to make do with the players they have, getting an out and out winger to the team will give the attack a big boost.

And as per reports in ForzaRoma.info, it seems that Arsenal are leading the race to the signature of the Turkish winger Cengiz Under.

Under who plays for Roma is one of the best young wingers in Europe at the moment and it is clear to see why the Gunners want to get him.

The price that is being quoted by Roma is said to be around €60m and the reason for the price being so high is the fact that Roma will have to pay a percentage of the fee back to Under’s former club.

Though it was being suggested that Bayern Munich were the front runners in their efforts to sign the Turkish winger, it is now said that Arsenal are the favorites at the moment. The German club were looking at the Roma player to replace the ageing Robben but it seems that they have cooled their interest for the time being at least.

It is well known that the Gunners are traditionally not a club that likes to spend a lot of money but they have shown in the past that they are willing to do it if needed as evidenced by the signings of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

With the departures of Sanchez and Theo Walcott, the Gunners do not really have anyone at the club who would qualify as out and out winger. This was made worse by the loan move of Reiss Nelson who could have played in that position.

Getting Under to the Emirates will go a long way in solving the problem that is currently faced by the Gunners. He will be a dynamic addition to the team and he is sure to add a new dimension to the attack. This will be a big help in both the short as well as long term.

Injury blow for Arsenal as Unai Emery confirms key player is set to miss Leicester City clash

Unai Emery

Arsenal are currently on a nine-match winning streak and apart from the Aaron Ramsey contract situation, everything seems to be going smoothly at the club.

But, if you happen to be a fan of the Gunners, you will know that an injury is never too far away. That is what has happened with central defender Sokratis who has suffered an injury while he was away on international duty.

Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Unai Emery confirmed the news:

“Right ankle bruising from international duty. Being assessed ahead of Leicester City (h) on Monday, October 22.”

Only Sokratis had one problem, one small injury. The Greek defender has had quite a good start to his Arsenal career and has gone a long way in proving the doubters wrong.”

Many fans were not totally convinced when the Gunners decided to sign Sokratis from Borussia Dortmund but, his performances have been a pleasant surprise.

In the absence of the center back, Arsenal have used the pairing of Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding. Both of them have been really solid and a special mention has to be made of the latter who has been particularly impressive.

That combination is set to continue with the injury that has been suffered by Sokratis so there will at least be some stability in the center of defense for Arsenal.

It is in the area of center backs where Arsenal are a little light at the moment. With the injury of Sokratis and the rehabilitation of Laurent Koscielny being an ongoing process, there is no real cover for Mustafi and Holding.

Arsenal will be looking to continue the winning streak that they are now going through. And it will be a big help for the team if they are able to get a fully fit squad as soon as possible. Sokratis has shown that he can do the dirty work and another aspect of his game that must be praised is the passing that he brings to the side.

Arsenal want to sign £44m midfielder as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, Scout sent

Arsenal Stadium

It appears that the contract negotiations between the Gunners and Aaron Ramsey has come to a standstill at the moment.

There appears to be no compromise in sight and that has made the fans a little nervous. But, Arsenal are already on the lookout for somebody to replace the Welshman.

And according to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport, they have already identified a player in Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella who plays for Cagliari. A scout has already been dispatched to track the player.

He is considered to be one of the best prospects that has come out of Italy in the recent past and as a result of this, Cagliari are not willing to let him go for cheap and will demand around £44m.

This does seem like a high price for someone who is just 21 years old but that age is one of the reasons why Cagliari want so much for Barella. He is clearly a player with a lot of potential.

It is a little unfortunate that the Gunners find themselves in this kind of a situation as it is something that could have been avoided. And because of their failure to do so, they are in a position where they will have to act quickly.

Given that Ramsey is most likely is on his way out of the club, it has helped force the hand of Arsenal. Though Barella and Ramsey are not really similar players, there are ways in which the Italian will be an asset to the Emirates side.

One of the common factors between with both these players is the stamina levels that they possess. Both are able to bomb up and down the pitch for the entire game.

Perhaps manager Unai Emery thinks that Barella will be better suited to the game of the Gunners and that is why the club is looking at him. If they are able to capture the Italian, it will be a big help in getting a more balanced midfield with Torreira and Xhaka. This will allow Emery to fully implement the style of football that he wants to play.

Jack Wilshere sends message to Arsenal and Unai Emery over Aaron Ramsey contract stalemate

Jack Wilshere

In one of the more surprising but in hindsight, inevitable moves of the summer, Jack Wilshere left the Gunners to join West Ham United.

He left on a free after a career that promised so much but due to a raft of injuries, could not reach the heights it should have. Having been in this situation, he knows exactly what Aaron Ramsey is going through and he had a few things to say about that.

According to Talk Sport, This is what the England midfielder had to say about his friend and former teammate:

“He’s grown up to be a great player with Arsenal. They could do with someone like him. We know what he can do for the club.

“For me he’s a future Arsenal captain. I know he loves the club.”

It must be noted that this is quite gracious of Wilshere to say because both he and Ramsey were rivals for the same spot for a long time.

The fans recognize the importance of a player such as Ramsey but the board seems to think otherwise and retracted their contract offer as a result of that.

Though Ramsey has indicated that he will honor the rest of his contract, it seems more and more likely that he will be leaving the Gunners come the end of the season.

If he does leave the club, there will be no shortage of suitors for the Welshman and he can have his pick with regards to clubs.

Whether his next destination is England or abroad is the one factor that is yet to be decided as clubs such as Real Madrid and Juventus are said to be interested in him.

The Gunners are on a nine-match winning streak at the moment and the squad seems to be settling in nicely. If the Ramsey situation does lead to some problems within the squad, it will be the fault of the board. So, it is better if they try to find a solution for this as soon as possible.
