Arsenal ended their usual barren November run with a victory over Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The first half started exactly how Wenger would have wanted. The Gunners pressed high up the pitch, dominated the battle of possession and created plenty of chances.
The first goal came as result of the same, and after a terribly short back pass from Steve Cook is intercepted by Sanchez, who simply shifted the ball and placed it past on-rushing keeper to make it 1-0.
However, after the goal, the North London club let off and did find their precious equaliser virtue of a generous penalty from referee to make it 1-1.
The second half came and the Gunners started with a greater intensity and energy in his team. The pressing resulted in a second goal as Walcott headed home to make it 2-1 around the hour mark and late in the game Sanchez made it 3-1 on a counter attack.
The Gunners are still unbeaten in all competitions since the opening day of the season, and closed the gap to the League leaders to just 3 points following the win.
However, there was one performance that impressed the Gunners most and that was of Granit Xhaka. The fans have been calling for him to be included in the starting line-up and yesterday’s performance shows why they are so keen to see more of their new central midfielder.
Although the commencement to his Arsenal career hasn’t exactly gone as anticipated, Xhaka remains a fine player and it will surely only be a matter of time before he is able to fully establish himself in the side.
Here are some fan reactions from Twitter:
True
Xhaka is like an anchor in the middle of the field, silently providing the best support one ever needed 😍😍😍

#Elneny and #Xhaka allowed us to control the midfield today – and seemed to free up #Ozil to create, especially in half 2. This might work.
