A selection of Arsenal supporters were left disappointed following the average performance of Sead Kolasinac against Everton on Sunday afternoon.
The Bosnia international has fared impressively in the left wing-back position over the past few games, but he had a game to forget as he gifted the ball from a corner which contributed to Phil Jagielka’s winner for the Toffees.
Thereafter, the 25-year-old struggled to make any impact in terms of the crossing from the left flank before he was eventually substituted at the break, and a few supporters expressed their frustration on Twitter over his showing.
Here are some of the tweets….
wait
the way we lose this games is what irks me the most. Kolasinac just casually puts the ball in the path of Jagielka & hopefully raise his hand for an offside
like bro doesnt evn have a defenders reflex & instinct 2 clear that ball
He wanted to start a counter in our 6yards

Thought Leno was the only player that turned up.. not much he could do about Kolasinac and his inch perfect pass for Jagielka

Kolasinac looked so bad today which shocked me. He gifted Jagielka a tap in and then complained to linesman. Disappointing

Kolasinac is so lazy. He played Jagielka on for their first goal. The guy has no defensive awareness. Need a new LB idc

Kolasinac has had a weak link when it comes to the defensive side of his game, but that concern has recently been overcome with the Bosnian featuring in a wing-back position where he has been given the license to get forward at every attacking opportunity.
However, that does not dissect his defensive duties from set-pieces and he should have done much better against the Toffees, where he mistakenly provided an inch-perfect pass for Jagielka’s goal while seeking to clear the ball from danger.
Arsenal are scheduled to face Napoli in the home leg of the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night and it remains to be seen whether Unai Emery will stick with the three-man backline, which failed to work out against the Toffees.
In the second period, Emery reverted to a regular four-man defence with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette featuring together upfront as the game progressed, and the duo could be paired from the off in midweek.
