The French forward’s agent has been speaking to the press about the player’s future and whether or not he’s making a move back to his home country to play for Marseille.
The 30-year-old has been linked to the club for a number of weeks, this has caused the player’s agent to come out and deny the link. His agent said that “Nothing is true,” in regards to the player moving.
However, he went on to say “When we know exactly what Arsene Wenger is doing, we will ask ourselves questions. We will think about what is possible and what is not possible.”
The French striker who currently earns £100,000-a-week has signed a contract extension with the club back in January, so it will be unlikely that the player will leave so quickly after signing a new deal.
However if his place in the side under Wenger or a new manager starts to decrease, then he is likely to find first-team football somewhere else. Wenger is likely to wait until summer before confirming his future and Giroud might well make a decision then.
The player hasn’t been starting regularly for the Gunners but instead appearing from the bench, although he’s managed to score nine goals in the Premier League this season from 25 games.
Whereas Alexis Sanchez has made more appearances at 33 but managed 19 goals, which is a lower goal per 90 minutes ratio than the Frenchman.
With age not being on Giroud’s side, it’s down to the manager whether it’s worth having the Frenchman in his side next season or cash in on the player now.
With Alexis playing the centre forward role, Welbeck back from injury, it looks hard to find a regular place for the player next season. It’s definitely looking to be a big Summer for Arsenal transfer news.
