As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are keen on signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic but the transfer might not materialise this month.
The 21-year-old has become one of the most exciting talents in all of Europe thanks to his excellent scoring record. As the leader of the Italian side’s attack, the Serbian has flourished into an all-round player capable of great things.
Romano stated on Twitter that the striker only wants to leave in the summer. He further went on to say:
“Arsenal are trying to sign Vlahović since October – but Dusan is still planning to leave in summer, not now. Nothing has changed yet. Really complicated negotiation on player/agents’ side.”

Arsenal Fever View:
It is clear why the Gunners want to bring in Vlahovic now as it will be a big boost for their hopes of finishing in the top four. This move makes sense even if Aubameyang stays until the summer, as the youngster will have some time to acclimatise. Whenever a big talent comes to England from a foreign league, there is a period of time needed to adapt.
The style of play that is seen in the Premier League is quite different from the Serie A and it can be quite a culture shock for some. But if the striker himself prefers a summer move, then the north Londoners would have no choice but to wait. They might try and tempt him with a huge offer but it is better to wait and review their options.
As for Fiorentina, it makes sense for them to sell their young star in January as they are more likely to get a bigger fee. Once the season ends, the Serbian international will only have 12 months left on his contract and the transfer fee will be lower.
The good news is that Arsenal are trying to improve their squad right now instead of waiting until the end of the season. And though Vlahovic is one of the best young forwards in the world, the Gunners cannot keep waiting forever, for the 21-year-old to make up his mind. The English giants would prefer for this saga to get over as soon as possible.
