Arsenal’s No.10 and England international Jack Wilshere, widely pipped to be future Arsenal captain, is to the shock of many, being allowed to move away from the Emirates.
As we enter the last day of the transfer market, everyone seems engrossed completely in following up with Jack Wilshere. With a host of Premier clubs including Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Manchester City interested in the 24 year old’s services, interest from outside of England has also reported to be true.
Reputed journalist David Ornstein, who bloggers, fans, journalists, everyone have been following eagerly throughout the transfer window, has confirmed on his twitter account that Italian giants Roma have now agreed terms for Wilshere.
Here is what he said on twitter:
Understand Roma (led by Baldini) & Wilshere camp have agreed terms. He's keen but it's not done, up to Arsenal #AFC #CPFC #AFCB #DeadlineDay
— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) August 31, 2016
Ornstein’s tweets usually do the rounds only when there is in actually some development on a plausible transfer ( well at least in our recent memory!). If this is the case, Wilshere’s best friend Afobe and his current manager at Bournemouth, Eddie Howe, are bound to be disappointed.
The Daily Mail reported earlier today that Jack Wilshere met with Howe to discuss a potential loan deal, with the Cherries boss determined to use his ‘trump’ card in Wilshere’s best friend Afobe, to try and convince his childhood mate to come on board.
The Wilshere-to-Roma deal does not find it’s source only in David Orsntein’s constant updates on social media.
Skysports too have quoted their sources claiming that Roma have made a late bid to sign Wilshere on loan as well. Having already met with Eddie Howe and Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew earlier, Wilshere is yet to decide on where is it that he will end up. Roma’s late entry into the race for the midfielder implies heavy competition for the England international. Roma have already signed Arsenal Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on loan for a second consecutive term, as well as former Arsenal skipper Thomas Vermaelen. They have previously signed Gervinho from Arsenal. Clearly there has been enough communication between the two clubs in the past!
The influx of reports and stories regarding Wilshere for the next few hours is going to be substantial. Stay tuned for updates from us, and keep yourself glued to your computer screens Gooners!
