Having sorted the defensive midfield issue with the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, the Gunners boss now seems to be on the verge of solving his striking problems.
Kaveh Solhekol who is a Skysport news reporter claims that Napoli’s official radio station has confirmed that Gonzalo Higuain will ‘almost certainly’ join the north London club for a deal worth £42m(€50m) this summer, that will also see Gunners top striker Olivier Giroud moving to the Emirates.
Higuain has formerly been linked with a move to the Emirates, but the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger couldn’t stop him from joining Napoli in the year 2013.
Last week, it was reported by Italian new outlet Calciomercato, that Arsenal are now ready to table an offer that will see them paying a deal worth £42m plus their top striker Giroud in order to land the Argentine international this summer.
They have been several reports flying around over the past few weeks with some reports claiming that the Gunners have already agreed on personal terms with the Argentine international, while the latest report claimed that the 29-year-old ace has been asked to leave the club after holding talks directly with Wenger.
Sky Sports news reporter Kaveh Solhekol has now taken to the social media, Twitter, to quote Napoli’s radio station who claim the Argentinian is close to Arsenal move.

Higuain, 29, has already made it clear that he won’t be renewing his contract and if at all the Serie A club wants to sell they would prefer to sell the striker to the Gunners than selling him to their rivals, so it appears the Arsenal are in pole position to sign him.
It is obvious that Higuain will be a great signing as he’s one of the best strikers in European football, and he reiterated that fact once again last season by netting 36 in 35 appearances for the Serie A club.
Higuain leading the Gunners up front with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez supporting him will no doubt propel Arsenal to the League title. However, I don’t understand the logic behind letting Giroud go because of the injury record we have.
With Danny Welbeck out for the majority of next season due to injury, Wenger needs to have two strikers at his helm and if we sell Giroud we will again be left with a lone striker, which I don’t think would be enough for the Gunners to go all the way in the Premier League.
So while all Arsenal fans will love to see Higuain at the Emirates Stadium, it would be a preferable if it is a straight cash deal.
