Arsenal will be welcoming Sheffield United to the Emirates stadium on Sunday after progressing to the next round of Carabao Cup.
The North London club bounced back against Liverpool in the Cup by virtue of penalty shootout after losing to them in the League just a couple of days prior. They advanced to the quarterfinals where they will be facing Manchester City.
As for the team news for Sunday’s match, the good news is that there are no new injury concerns. The Emirates club will also be boosted by the fact that center-back Shkodran Mustafi is set to be back in full training after being injured since July.
Now coming to the probable line-up, Bernd Leno will continue his place in goal after his heroics on Thursday. The Emirates club will set out in a 3-4-3 formation. Rob Holding will keep his place from the Cup game, and will be partnered with David Luiz and Kieran Tierney, who were rested in midweek.
Cedric Soares and Sead Kolasinac are expected to make way for Bukayo Saka and Hector Bellerin. The former started in midfield in the Cup but should play as a wing back this time around. Bellerin is in great form and will be itching to get back onto the pitch.
Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka started in midweek but are expected to keep their place. Though Mohamed Elneny was preferred in the League last time around, the duo have been the go-to guys for the boss this season. Their passing game will be crucial to unlock the Sheffield defense on Sunday
In attack, the trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Willian will return. These three have combined well so far this season, so Arteta might prefer to play safe. Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah did well on Thursday, but they will make way for the more experienced players. It won’t be an easy game, but Arsenal will be confident of getting the win.
