Far be it from me to make recommendations to Sven Mislintat but if Arsenal are looking for a striker for the future, one name, more than any other springs to mind, FC Schalke forward, Breel Embolo.
They have no immediate need for another striker with Aubameyang and Lacazette already in place but if the club wanted to invest in a rising star of the future, it would be a wise purchase.
Embolo has been described as a complete striker and watching him, You can see exactly why he would be a perfect fit for Arsenal’s free-flowing style of football.
Physically strong, determined and sure-footed, Embolo is a fearful prospect, often seen surging forward, losing markers and dominating defenders with speed
Once on goal , he shows maturity and determination, shrugging off challenges to bury the ball in the opposition net. Both Aubameyang and Lacazette are at their peak, with the promise of more to come next season but if supported were needed or cover for injury, Embolo fits the criteria and looks every inch an Arsenal player.
On the scoreboard for Switzerland in their recent victory against a Panama recently, he showed his ruthless streak and that he is able to take the limited opportunities that come his way.
Arsenal have definite problems in this area because as I’ve mentioned before, Danny Welbeck, who is virtually the reserve striker, is guilty of squandering chances or making poor final choices. The Englishman tends to drift into acute angles which hardly help his cause, possibly confused by his winger/striker role.
If any Arsenal fans need convincing, I’d urge you to look at the various compilations available on YouTube and you will see exactly why he is so impressive. The only problem is that for such a young player (21) his only real opportunity would be the lesser competitions such as the Carabao and FA cup, which would frustrate the player because of his undeniable potential.
Yet if the player decides to bide his time, the move would be irresistible and in a few years from now, we could be talking about Embolo in the same terms of Henry but they are a very big pair of boots to fill, just ask Aubameyang or Lacazette.
