Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac fought off two men during a carjacking attempt on teammate Mesut Ozil’s car.
In a video that is being circulated on Social Media, Kolasinac is seen jumping out of the car to confront both the thugs who had pulled alongside the car on mopeds. The attackers ran off immediately after seeing the defender.
When the club was asked how the two players were doing, an Arsenal spokesperson said(as per Guardian):
‘We have been in contact with both players and they are fine.’
This is not the first time that something like this has happened to a footballer as Andy Carroll of West Ham United was threatened at gunpoint on his way back from a training session. Ozil and Kolasinac were lucky to escape without any serious problems and the bravery that was shown by the Bosnian has to be lauded here.

Speaking on the incident, a spokesperson for Scotland Yard said:
‘It was reported that suspects on motorbikes had attempted to rob a man who was driving a car. The driver, along with his passenger, managed to get away unharmed and travelled to a restaurant in Golders Green, where they were spoken to by officers.’

The 25th of July was one of the most eventful days involving Arsenal and fans will not be in a hurry to forget it. It started off with the Gunners confirming their second and third signings of the summer in the form of Dani Ceballos and William Saliba. And it ended with this potentially scary encounter that thankfully did not end in a bad way.
We tend to look at footballers as people from other planets but the fact is that they too are human beings and can be prone to such incidents. The club will be looking to talk to both Ozil and Kolasinac and ensure that they are feeling safe in the city.
Affectionately known as the Bosnian Hulk, Kolasinac has become somewhat of a cult figure during his time at the Emirates. His reputation within the Gunners fan base would surely have gone up following this courageous defense that he put up when faced with a life-threatening situation. But more than anything, fans will be happy that the duo and their wives were able to get away without facing any harm.
