A section of the Arsenal faithful were elated with the performance of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the recent derby triumph over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners took up an early advantage with Aubameyang from a penalty kick but the lead did not hold up to the break with Eric Dier and Harry Kane putting Spurs 2-1 up.
However, Unai Emery’s side managed to make a stellar comeback during the second period and Aubameyang was hugely instrumental with another goal and an assist which contributed towards the 4-2 triumph.
Aubameyang has regularly been highlighted as a tap-in merchant with the vast majority of his goals coming in and around the six-yard box but he managed to prove his credentials from long-range in the north London derby with a stunning one-time shot after a lovely pass from Aaron Ramsey.
Now that was some class finish by Aubameyang🙌🏻 https://t.co/lWw4U49KYA

Aubameyang outclassed Harry Kane in every aspect today. His movement, combinations and work rate were outstanding. This is why I want Auba up front. That second goal he scored today is an insanely hard finish a certain Frenchman who also wore No.14 would be proud of…

He thereafter continued to pile the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino’s men with a couple of crucial interceptions and eventually helped in putting the result to bed after providing the through ball which Lucas Torreira capitalised upon to score his maiden goal for the club.
With the result, Aubameyang has managed to leapfrog the likes of Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling to the top of the Premier League charts with 10 goals this term and he should relish the chance of extending the tally further against an out-of-form Manchester United side in midweek.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are now occupying the fourth position ahead of Spurs on goal difference after the sublime derby triumph while their unbeaten run has also extended to 19 matches across all competitions.
