Arsenal have been after Celtic left back Kieran Tierney for almost the entirety of the transfer window without any success.
However, all their efforts could prove to be fruitful as the North London club are all set to make a third bid over the weekend, according to reports in Express.
The report further states that with this bid, the Emirates club expect to be successful after having two bids already being rejected by the Scottish club. The Gunners were able to match the £25m valuation that Celtic that put on Tierney but there was a problem in the way that the London club had structured the fee to be paid.
Celtic wanted a larger portion of the fee to be paid upfront and that was the factor preventing a move from happening. But Arsenal have reportedly understood that if they do not restructure their fee for Tierney, it will not be possible to get hold of the Scot.
So, they have decided to give more money upfront and that should be enough to seal the deal in favor of the Unai Emery’s side.
He is one player that has been identified by Gunners manager Unai Emery who will be happy knowing that Tierney could very well be on his way to the Emirates. Arsenal’s defense has been one of their weakest areas and it is encouraging to see the club take measures to improve this.
Tierney would be a fantastic addition to the Arsenal team as he has proven himself to be a fine left back over a number of seasons. Apart from this, he can also play in the center of defense and that is sure to have played a role in determining the interest of the Gunners.
Arsenal have been making serious strides in the transfer window in the recent weeks with the addition of players such as Dani Ceballos and club record signing Nicolas Pepe. With William Saliba set to join next year the future does look very bright.
And what would make this even better is the addition of someone like Tierney who can lock down the left side of the Gunners defense for years to come. There isn’t much time left in the transfer window so it would be nice if the club submitted that third bid quickly.
