Arsene Wenger has verbally agreed terms over a fresh two-year deal ahead of a potential announcement on Wednesday, BBC Sports journalist David Ornstein claims.
The long-standing manager had met up with owner Stan Kroenke on Monday afternoon in order to resolve his future which has been under question over the past couple of months.
Wenger managed to guide the Gunners to the seventh FA Cup under his management last weekend, and it appears that the silverware has done enough to convince the club into an extension.
As per David Ornstein, via Twitter, the 67-year-old has all but agreed on a new deal which will be rubber-stamped by the club’s hierarchy before the end of the day.

Former Gunner Ian Wright spread fears that the Frenchman could ‘walk away‘ from the Emirates leaving the club in a lurch with no ideal replacement on hand.
However, Wenger now appears to have committed his future on a fresh two-year extension which may well be his last, should he fail to earn Premier League glory with the north London club.
The Gunners will be participating in the Europa League for the first time in their club history, but they are nevertheless on the search for quality recruits as they seek to push for a long-awaited league title next term.
Arsenal have already agreed on a Bosman move to sign Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac, and they could be plenty more additions to the squad with Wenger due to be backed with a sizeable transfer kitty.
