Arsenal youngster Arthur Okonkwo is set to complete a season-long loan move to League Two club Crewe Alexandra, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-year-old rose through the ranks of the Arsenal academy and has been a regular feature at the youth level. He has also been capped by the England U-18s, but the youngster is yet to make his senior debut for the north Londoners.
The youngster was part of Arsenal’s USA tour and managed to get some minutes under his belt. With the arrival of Matt Turner this summer, it is unlikely that Okonkwo will get first-team experience week in and week out.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the goalkeeper will join Crewe Alexandra on loan until next year, with a full agreement in place between both clubs. He is highly rated by Arsenal and is expected to be a significant part of the club’s future.

Arsenal Fever View:
The Gunners are having a major overhaul in the goalkeeping department this summer. Although Bernd Leno is closing in on a move away from the club, the arrival of Matt Turner and the returning loanee Karl Hein have narrowed the chances of Okonkwo featuring between the sticks.
Regular first-team football might prove invaluable to the 20-year-old’s development. And a loan move to Crewe could provide just that. The League Two side has just one senior goalkeeper in their ranks. Okonkwo will certainly provide some useful cover, while also competing for the number one spot.
Arsenal will have a keen eye on the Englishman’s time at Crewe Alexandra. He will, undoubtedly, be determined to have a productive loan spell, eyeing a strong return to the capital next year.
The north London club will conclude a fantastic pre-season with a clash against Sevilla in the Emirates cup on Saturday. The game will provide Mikel Arteta an opportunity to fine-tune things before they kick the Premier League season off with an away trip to Crystal Palace in a week.
