Theo Walcott is set to reject a move to West Ham as Arsenal are reportedly planning to offer him a new deal this summer.
The Hammers manager Slaven Bilc had aimed to sign the forward as he plans to rebuild his team and a bid of £20 million was reportedly on the cards but Walcott seems contented to remain at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger had expressed that the England international remains part of his plans for next season and the player has also “told friends” that he expects to be at the club next season, according to David Woods of the Daily Star.
The 27-year-old struggled for most parts of last season, Injuries really troubled his appearances, some of the factors that made him miss, a place in England squad for the European Championship in France coming up next month.
The former Southampton player started just Premier League 15 games, with 13 appearances from the bench and managed just five goals last season.
The Mirror reported that Arsenal would hold crunch talks with Walcott and his representative about his future at the club, with the forward looking for reassurances before committing his future to the club.
He is also on the radar of Manchester City with new boss Pep Guardiola- a fan of the forward- interested in bringing him to Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal are also considering move for Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to TransferMarketWeb.
The Magpies relegated from the Premier League last season and the France international could be on his way out of St. James Park.
Wenger is in need of reinforcement at the midfield and he is looking to take advantage of Newcastle situation to sign the player.
The report claimed the 26-year-old could be available for £10 million. He joined Newcastle in January 2013 and managed just a goal in 37 league appearances this season.
David Woods of the daily star reported Walcott has “told friends” that he is expected to be with the North – London side for the start of next season, however, despite strong interest been show by west ham, who are willing to break the bank and pay the sum of £20 million for the England international service.
According to Daily Mirror’s John Cross, despite the talks between clubs, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is willing to keep the English man at the Emirate stadium.
