Arsenal outcast Lucas Perez has been offered a stunning 10-year-old deal in order to make a return with Deportivo La Coruna this summer. The Spanish forward managed just two league starts for the Gunners following his switch from the La Liga club.
Perez, 28, had attracted interest from both Everton and Arsenal last summer, but the Gunners clinched the deal after they triggered the £17.1m fee in his Depor contract ahead of their Premier League counterparts.
The attacker made an instant debut up front during the 2-1 win over Southampton in September last year, but his appearances were therein restricted with a calf injury pushing him below the pecking order.
Perez ended the campaign with just 11 top-flight appearances, but he was still successful in the Cup and the Champions League where he bagged six goals in 10 outings.
According to Galicia outlet DXTCampeon, the Spaniard has been offered the chance to commit his career to Depor, should he decide to make a comeback this summer.
The forward has been offered a 10-year deal with the option of becoming the club’s technical director once he decides to hang up his boots. The report suggests Perez may have already accepted the offer but Deportivo and Arsenal still need to agree a fee.
Perez is likely to be sold with a decent loss this summer, and the source adds that the player would be available for a fee between £9-10m.
Turkish giants Fenerbahce are also keen on the Spanish winger, but the player has an eye on a return home, although he will have to take a significant cut on the £70,000-a-week wages.
Perez currently has three more years on his Arsenal contract, but Arsene Wenger would be willing to sanction his deal in order to concentrate on the club’s incoming transfers.
AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar has identified as the next target for the club, but they will have to pay a club-record £55m in order to persuade the French champions into a sale.
