Arsenal has reportedly underlined his transfer targets ahead of the summer in a desperate bid to keep hold of the services of in-form attacker Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile international has just 14 months’ left on his present deal at the Emirates, and talks over an extension are likely to be delayed until the end of the season.
According to The Mirror, the north London giants have already listed their options for the summer with RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg among the top three names on the list.
The Sweden international has been one of the many standout performers for the Bundesliga newcomers this term, and this appears to have caught the eye of Arsene Wenger, who is keen to add fresh blood to their squad.
Forsberg, who is an attacking midfielder by trade, has amassed eight goals and 15 assists for Leipzig, who are guaranteed their place in next season’s Champions League.
The 25-year-old has also been linked with a move to rivals Liverpool, but the Gunners believe that a sum of around £20m could be sufficient to lure the Swedish star.
Meanwhile, Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac and AS Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe are the other players on the club’s radar with the former deemed to be close to agreeing a pre-contract with the Capital outfit.
Monaco youngster Mbappe has been constantly watched by the Gunners’ scouts over the past year or so with Wenger himself admitting that his side failed with an approach for the 18-year-old last summer.
The teenage forward has already made himself a fan favourite at the Principality outfit, and he is likely to cost a club-record sum following an excellent breakthrough spell which has seen him net 22 goals across all competitions.
Arsenal are currently placed seventh in the Premier League standings – seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City, who hold the final Champions League qualification spot.
