Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday as they visit Leeds United where they have a chance to go four points clear at the top, so let’s take a look at the latest team news.
The Gunners are also on top of their group in the Europa League after a win over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday. Elland Road will be a different challenge, but this squad has the talent to get the win.
As for the team news, the north Londoners will be without two midfielders in Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny. Alex Zinchenko was not available for the last two games, but might be available for the weekend.
There is also a doubt over whether Gabriel Jesus will be fit enough to face Leeds. The striker was not taken to Norway as a precaution so there is hope that he could be in contention for this game. Apart from this, there aren’t many injury worries for the visitors.
Arsenal Fever View:
Mikel Arteta will be happy with how his team has been playing in the recent past. For this to emerge a successful season, they should continue to play like this for a long time. And that includes getting wins over teams such as Leeds who can create problems.
The Gunners will have to be careful with the hosts attack as they have some skillful players. The likes of William Saliba and Gabriel need to ensure that there are no balls played in behind the defence.
There will be a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to create havoc from the wings and this will be even more crucial, if Gabriel Jesus is not fit and ready for the weekend.
There is a lot of positivity around the north Londoners at the moment and they would want to keep it going for as long as possible. Leeds have a bunch of talented players that can create chances so, a lot of concentration will be required.
Arsenal can put more pressure on their nearest rivals with a win which will not be easy but the three points are expected to return to London. Arteta will be confident that this team has the mentality and talent needed to be successful.
