Arsenal have a chance to regroup on Sunday as they welcome Burnley to the Emirates where they will look to stay in the hunt for the Champions League spots, so let’s take a look at the team news.
The Gunners have just a couple of days to recover from their disappointing Carabao Cup exit on Thursday. But the good news is that they are in the race for the top four and have a chance to put some pressure on their rivals.
There are a lot of absentees for Mikel Arteta to deal with as there are suspensions, injuries and players away on international duty. Both Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are suspended for this game due to a red card.
As for the others, Calum Chambers, Cedric and Bernd Leno are all doubtful for the weekend as they did not make the squad during the week. Apart from this, the north Londoners have to do without the services of Nicolas Pepe and Mohamed Elneny who are still at the AFCON. And though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back in London, the chances of him playing are quite minimal.
Arsenal Fever View:
The visitors have had a few games postponed so they should have more time to get ready for this match. But the Gunners need to focus on getting the three points as not doing so, will put a dent in their hopes of finishing in the top four.
Arteta will be hoping that his attackers can come good against a defence that is known for not letting in too many goals. The likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli need to show their prowess at creating chances and converting them. Should that happen, the north Londoners can look forward to a win.
Arsenal have only the Premier League to focus on now and should ensure that they are giving it their best shot. The team has a really good chance of getting back into the Champions League and it is games like this that need to be won. Despite a few members missing, the Gunners have more than enough firepower to get the win.
