Arsenal boss Unai Emery may have further selection headache on his hands with the Gunners suffering another injury concern during the recent Premier League defeat at Liverpool.
The Gunners have been deeply affected in the defensive front with the likes of Rob Holding (for the season) and Konstantinos Mavropanos on the sidelines while Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin still remain potential injury doubts.
Amidst this, the club are said to have suffered another injury setback with Ainsley-Maitland Niles – who bagged the opening goal at Anfield – sustaining an injury towards the end of the Reds clash, The Star claims.
With the transfer window reopening tomorrow, Emery has the opportunity to find a solution to the ongoing problems, though the club don’t seem eager to spend unless a suitable option is available in the market.
In this case, the Spanish tactician is likely to rely on the available options with Bellerin and Monreal expected to return in January but before that, they have a game against Fulham on New Year’s Day.
Arsenal have gone through a tough end to the year with just one point accumulated against Brighton and Liverpool in the past two matches and this has already bridged a five-point gap to Chelsea in the pursuit of the final Champions League spot.
As such, there remains no room for error in the forthcoming matches and Tuesday’s game against relegation candidates Fulham remains a must win to keep up with the Blues in the top-four race.
Let’s hope Arsenal get back on track.
