Arsenal supporters were delighted with the performance of Aaron Ramsey during Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first-leg against CSKA Moscow.
The Wales international was hugely influential during the round of 16 stage versus AC Milan, and he managed to continue with the same vein of form versus CSKA.
Ramsey bagged a brace during the Gunners’ 4-1 triumph over the Russian outfit, but his second goal was simply ecstatic as he scored off a stupendous side-foot volley.
The Welshman could not secure man-of-the-match accolade owing to Mesut Ozil’s hat-trick of assists on the night, but some of the faithful urged the club to offer him an extension.

Still can't believe how good our first half was last night. Ramsey on another level too! We HAVE to sign him up long-term – aswell as Wilshere.

Ramsey first time finishes are so, so good. Injected straight into the veins, stringer than fentanyl.

That is ridiculously good from Ramsey. Not sure I've ever seen a finish like that, complete with the dip

Unlike Jack Wilshere, Ramsey has more than a year left on his existing deal, but the Gunners would not want to enter the same situation as Alexis Sanchez earlier this season where they had no option but to accept a mid-season sale.
Arsene Wenger has already confirmed that talks have begun over a new extension with the Welshman, and the fans will hope that the midfielder is committed to a fresh long-term deal at the earliest possibility.
Ramsey has received a mixed opinion among the fans owing to his regular injury concerns as well as inconsistency in performances, but he has the rare quality of putting up a world-class display on his day.
The Welshman proved influential to ending Arsenal’s nine-year trophy drought with the FA Cup winning goal in 2014, and he managed to replicate the feat last term, where he popped up with another strike versus Chelsea.
Ramsey has no doubt stepped up his game in recent outings against Milan and CSKA, and the fans will hope that the midfielder can maintain his purple streak to lead the club to Champions League football next season, via an Europa League final triumph.
