As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have scheduled a meeting with Leeds United to discuss about the transfer of Raphinha.
The Brazilian has been one of the best players for the Whites since moving from France in the summer of 2020. With a combination of skill, pace and flair, the 25-year-old has taken the league by storm.
Romano provided an update on the Gunners’ pursuit of the winger as he tweeted:
“Raphinha deal. Arsenal have already scheduled a meeting with Leeds next week – Leeds will ask again for £65m fee. Barcelona still in contact with Deco after personal terms agreed, but no fresh bid yet. Tottenham and Chelsea, still in talks with agents. Race still open.”
The meeting comes after the north Londoners have failed with their initial bid of around £35m for Raphinha. Leeds have outright rejected that fee and are looking for a much higher value.

Arsenal Fever View:
It is great news that the Gunners are looking at players of such quality as it can bolster a team looking to finish in the top four. The Brazilian will add a lot of flair on the wings and can also provide a goal threat which is going to be crucial going forward.
Given that there is competition from other clubs, the north Londoners need to ensure that they move quickly. It would not be good at all, to lose out on such an elite talent to rivals so, it is great news that there is going to be a meeting.
With five substitutions set to be a feature from this season, it is important to have some depth in the squad. The Gunners did well to get back into Europe, but they should have made it to the top four. And a major reason for not qualifying for the Champions League was a lack of proper depth.
It is encouraging for Arsenal that Mikel Arteta and others at the club are being positive in the transfer market. With the imminent arrival of Gabriel Jesus and the pursuit of Raphinha, things are starting to look good ahead of the next season. Though the signing is not confirmed, there is a good chance that the Emirates club could pull this off.
