Arsenal are reportedly planning contract negotiations with midfielder Jack Wilshere, who is currently on a season-long loan at Bournemouth.
The England international linked up with the Cherries during the dying stages of the summer transfer window after manager Arsene Wenger failed to promise him a regular run in the starting lineup.
A recent report from Metro claimed that the playmaker could be the subject of a £30m bid from West Ham United with Slaven Bilic keen to reinforce his midfield ranks further in the summer.
However, The Mirror suggests that the Gunners will act quickly to resolve the player’s future with his contract due to expire in 15 months’ time.
The Stevenage-born star who reportedly earns £90,000-per-week, has made a good impression at the South Coast during the first-half of the campaign with Eddie Howe deploying him in the attacking midfield role.
But, he has since occupied a regular position on the substitutes’ bench with Josh King and Benik Afobe preferred in a two-striker partnership upfront.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has previously insisted that Wilshere will have a long-term future at the Emirates, but it is yet to be seen whether he would extend his contract with the French head coach likely to stay put beyond the current campaign.
Apart from Wilshere, the club’s hierarchy have also planned contract renewals for English pair Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with the latter being involved on a regular basis in the starting lineup this term.
Arsenal are currently four points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City following a convincing 3-0 win over West Ham United, which gives them more hope of achieving a Champions League place.
